                                 ORDER
 
        On October 29, 1999, appellant, Joseph H. Trimbach, filed an
   appeal of the  contracting officer's denial of his  claim for the
   amount  of $19,489.57 in  connection with  a contract  to perform
   investigative  verification services.   In a telephone conference
   held on  March 22, 2000,  the parties stated they  were exploring
   the possibility  of settlement.   On August  21, 2000,  the Board
   received  a  letter  from appellant's  counsel  stating  that the
   matter  had  been  settled  and  requesting  that  the appeal  be
   dismissed.  
 
        Accordingly, this appeal is DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE.
